chilly monday...
i was just telling my dad that nagoya is still kinda hot though it is already autumn... guess what, it rained that night, and now it is still raining outside... not the cats and dogs type but still kinda cold... it has been raining for like almost 7hrs now... taihen ne! do you know that the japanese greet each other with something to do with the weather, like "yoku furimasu ne!" or "ii otenki desune" or "atsui desu ne!" literally meaning "raining heavily, isn't it?", "what a nice weather, isn't it?" and "it is very hot, isn't it?"... i know it sounds weird in english and the grammar has gone all haywired and stuff but they just dont go around saying "what's up?" and "how're ya doin dude?"... it has got to be something bout the weather!!!
had a small test this morning... thompson was 10minutes late for class coz he stays like 1hrs 20mins away and coz of the heavy rain this morning... he wasn't allowed to take the test coz of him being late for class... kibishikattane... didn't realise that the teachers are so so strict bout rules and classroom's regulations... he was a bit upset lah while relating this to me at the language lab... felt sorry for him... aww...
it's a bit chilly today... luckily i had my sweater with me... indoors is fine but out there... cold! oh ya, today's the first day of the autumn semester for the japanese students!!! compared to the previous 3weeks, sugoku konde iru ne!!! the whole uni is like so crowded and people here and there and everywhere... it's like an "asian mob" out there... pheww...was hard to get from one lecture hall to another! i think this is going to last till i leave japan... arghh...
oh ya, mom! i made my own lunch box to school today, bread with bacon and cheese, one sunny-side-up! no need to worry lah! oh ya, by the way, the alfalfa i bought was bitter lah! why? i thought the one we use to grow ourselves were so tasty... this one is BITTER! yucks... think i'm gonna throw it away, there's no way i'm goin to force it down my easophagus(correct spelling ah, min?) i tried and it is really yucky! Hey, dad, i've been spending mostly on food and stamps lah! Groceries and stuff, around 3500yen per week? I do eat out once in a while, give myself treats like i always do... bought some clothes for autumn yesterday for 3oooyen plus plus... realised that i haven't got enough clothes, especially tops lah! eating out is really really expensive... like 500yen per meal... no worries, i wont starve myself, that is just so not szehwei! found out that there's a really good pasta shop near nanzan... the price is pretty reasonable, enomoto sensei told us lah! gonna check that place out later! yeah, been cooking yakisoba, spaghetti these days... that's the easiest lah! made egg mayonnaise the other day, and i thought that their mayo tastes different... "no taste"!! wanted to look for thousand islands but tak dapat! crave for sour cream sauce lah... i have absolutely no idea what to cook for my dorm mates if asked to prepare a malaysian dish... cili takde, santan takde, belacan pun takde... oh ya, garlic and onions are so so expensive here lah, mom!
3 garlics for 300yen, a loaf of bread 180yen, 1 litre of milk 180yen, 10 slices of cheese 380yen, an apple 100yen, 325ml of coke 150yen, a litre of fruit juice 180yen, 1.2kg of "kao attack" detergent 400yen, a cup of coffee 300yen, ice blended (ala coffeebean) 400yen, oh ya not forgetting mc donald's value meal 800yen!!! you do the calculation! by god's grace, still surviving! hahahahah! kidding lah! i'm doing fine here! hey, still calling me every sunday night at 1015pm (japan time) right? sundays are my favourite! church, and call from home! yayay!
